NOEL GALLAGHER’S HIGH FLYING BIRDS RELEASE BRAND NEW SINGLE – 'THIS IS THE PLACE'
THE NEW SINGLE IS TAKEN FROM THE FORTHCOMING EP OF THE SAME NAME, RELEASED ON SEPTEMBER 27th 2019
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will release ‘This Is The Place’, a brand new EP of music on September 27th. The title track from the EP is available now.
The five track EP features three brand new songs as well as two remixes, tracklisting below -
1. This Is The Place
2. A Dream Is All I Need To Get By
3. Evil Flower
4. This Is The Place (Dense & Pika Remix)
5. Evil Flower (The Reflex Revision)
Although completely disparate sonically, the three new tracks each feature soaring female backing vocals and all have a nod to different iterations of psych.
The full EP will be available digitally and on vinyl – including picture disc and coloured vinyl versions – on September 27th.
This is the second EP of new music from Noel in 2019, following the release of ‘Black Star Dancing’ in May. In a 4* review of the EP, NME said, “‘Black Star Dancing’ sparkles with shimmering synths and a scorching solo in tribute to David Bowie’s ‘Fashion’ over a four-to-the-floor beat. … ‘Rattling Rose’ lures you in with some traditional acoustic guitar and a driving Americana rhythm, before blooming into a sci-fi carnival breakdown … That marriage of soulful indie and a sweet groove harks back to Doves’ early work. After the sound of rainfall subsides, ‘Sail On’ swoons with that immediately relatable simplicity of Noel’s most powerful acoustic moments…”
This summer has seen Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds headline festivals across the UK as well as playing his own large-scale outdoor gigs, including a huge hometown show at Manchester’s Heaton Park. Noel will join The Smashing Pumpkins on tour across the US this month, before re-joining U2 on tour in Australia in November.
